About history

About 300 years ago, a Shaolin nun named Ng Mui was forced to leave the monastery. The nun only had few chances against the young and strong Manchu fighters with Shaolin techniques. She therefore developed a new technique that could defeat the existing Shaolin techniques. Your new concept should involve redirecting the opponent's power instead of countering it with power. Her first student was Yim WingTsun, the daughter of the Shaolin monk Yim Lee. Thus, the inventor of the system was a woman and her first student was a young girl. The first student of Yim WingTsun was her partner Leung Bok Chau, who called Ng Mui's system "WingTsun Kuen".
This system was passed on over several generations by masters who were very prominent at the time, until the last grandmaster Yip Man brought the system from Fatshan to Hong Kong. Sifu Turan Ataseven, who belongs to the first WT generation in Europe, learned the WingTsun system from his Sigung, who in turn was a direct student of Grandmaster Yip Man. But in 2005, at the request of his Sifu, he founded the WTI WingTsun International. From then on he protected his style under the name "TA WingTsun". In order to preserve the traditional good values, the "T" stands for traditional. To indicate originality, the "A" stands for authentic.

TA Wing Tsun

TA WingTsun is a logically thought-out self-defence system in which nothing is left to chance. Since no real self-defense case can be calculated in advance, the student is brought very close to violent situations during the practice and is individually trained in theory, technology and practice. From the verbal pre-fight phase, through kick, fist, knee and elbow defense techniques, to anti-throw and anti-ground combat techniques, all combat phases and distances can be found in the TA WingTsun style. Whether the training should be hard or soft and at what speed is up to each student, with the aim of developing a form of self-defence that is individually tailored to them. After all, in an emergency, this should work efficiently against any aggressor – regardless of the distance – as a reflex!
Through the emotional training Chi-Sao - which is also often referred to as the "soul of TA WingTsun" and serves as a binding agent and glue between the building blocks - you learn to act in a variety of combinations. By striving “to be able to be like water”, one acquires flexible thinking skills and learns to act correctly at the right moment. The result is a self-confident person who can adapt to any situation with confidence and success and face the surprising challenges of life without worry. The TA WingTsun student is thus given a feeling of "healthy" self-confidence, which prevents many unpleasant confrontations and arguments on the street and has positive effects on school, the professional field or even on private everyday life. TA WingTsun is therefore more than self-defence, it is a straightforward standard of living that leads to success.
